About Sabai Design
Sustainable Materials
One of the cornerstones of Sabai’s commitment to sustainability is their material selections.
Sabai Design exclusively crafts their home decor, tables, sofas, ottomans, loveseats, chairs and rugs from recycled, upcycled, or natural materials.
- They also avoid the use of harmful chemicals developed in accordance with the Green Science Policy Institutes list of harmful chemicals. This means no toxic flame retardants or added formaldehydes.
- Their wood frames are SFI/FSC Certified, ensuring responsible sourcing and no toxic off-gassing.
- The wood legs on their sofas are domestically-sourced maple, while their metal leg option is made from non-toxic machined solid aluminum.
- Their fabrics contain both recycled and upcycled fibers, with options like recycled velvet and upcycled polyester. Plus, they’re scratch resistant and a breeze to clean.
No greenwashing, no chemicals, just high quality materials to make high quality products.
Sabai Manufacturing
100% of Sabai’s products are made in ethically run factories in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Michigan. Their home furnishing products are manufactured with people in mind.
That means a quality workplace with high safety standards and a living wage. As it should be.
90% of Sabai’s materials are sourced within 100 miles of their manufacturing partners.
End of Life
Sabai Revive Program
Life happens. While their furniture is built to last, sometimes life gets in the way. Their Sabai Revive program lets you trade in your Sabai or find one secondhand.
Sabai Design offers the first furniture buyback program in the USA.
If you’re done with your Sabai product, simply fill out their Buyback Form. They’ll get photos and details, then work to find your furniture a new home.
If it sells, Sabai Design will give you up to 25% of the resale price.
They will also help you get boxes and schedule a shipping pickup for the old product. Whenever possible, they will ship it straight to the new customer to reduce CO2 emissions.
This program helps to reduce potentially wasted furniture, and gives new customers the ability to buy lightly used furniture at a 35% discount. Everyone wins!
Repair Don’t Replace
With conventional furniture, if one part breaks you usually have to toss the entire thing. This is not only a waste of resources, but can get super expensive.
Sabai Design offers replacement components to refresh your furniture so it can make your space beautiful for longer.
90% of Sabai products are designed to be easily repaired.
You can easily replace sofa legs, refresh back pillows, or even get entirely new slipcovers to change up the look and feel of your space.
Plus, because their designs are modular, you can easily add or remove pieces so that your furniture can grow and change with you (perfect for moving homes!)
It saves your wallet and it saves materials and resources. They’re on to something here!
Sabai Shipping and Assembly
Sabai Design knows that buying furniture online can be tricky. That’s why they offer fabric swatches – and provide tons of info on their products so you can customize your dream pieces.
All of their sofas, chairs, ottomans, rugs, loveseats, tables and home decor are shipped in 100% plastic-free packaging via FedEx in multiple boxes. This makes it easy to get inside your home!
Every new piece can be easily assembled within 30 minutes (really!) with easy-to-follow instructions.
Sabai Design Company Rating
For Sabai, sustainability is not a buzzword – it’s their blueprint. They’re innovating a closed-loop, circular economy system for furniture that has never been done before.
In short, they’re making sustainable living both accessible and stylish.
By prioritizing sustainability, living wages, and end of life for their products, they have elevated their products to more than just pieces of furniture—they are symbols of positive change.
